Liquid Waste Management With Recyc PHP’s Reclaimed Materials
Industrial Liquid Waste Management with Recycled Absorbent Media
Solutions for the Solidification of Liquid Waste
The management of industrial liquid waste and aqueous sludges presents significant operational challenges, including the presence of free liquids, unstable loads during transport, leakage risks, and compliance requirements at receiving facilities.
When the installation of specialized equipment is not justified or feasible, Recyc PHP provides recycled absorbent media designed for the solidification of industrial liquid waste and the stabilization of aqueous loads, while integrating into existing processes.
Our solutions help to:
- reduce the presence of free liquids (unabsorbed liquids)
- stabilize loads for handling and transportation
- support compliant disposal
- optimize operating costs, without adding new equipment
Our Absorbent Materials for Liquid Waste Solidification
Bulk Superabsorbent Polymers (SAP)
Superabsorbent polymer used as a high-performance gelling agent for aqueous liquids.
Key characteristics:
- rapid absorption
- high retention capacity
- effective when rapid reduction of free liquids is critical
Typical applications:
- highly aqueous effluents
- excess process liquids
- situations requiring rapid solidification
Indicative performance: Superabsorbent polymers are commonly used for the solidification of aqueous liquids at typical dosages in the range of 0.5 to 1.5% (w/w), depending on liquid composition (salinity, pH, solids content).
Recycled Absorbent Fibres Containing Superabsorbent Polymers (SAP)
Cellulosic fibres recovered from industrial waste streams, containing sodium polyacrylate (SAP).
Key characteristics:
- act as both an absorbent and a structuring (bulking) agent
- help limit water/solid separation
- suitable for aqueous and sludge-type wastes
Typical applications:
- stabilization of industrial sludges
- loads generated by vacuum trucks
- process residues with a high liquid fraction
Absorbent Pellets
Absorbent cellulosic pellets made from compacted recycled cellulosic fibres, derived from the same base material as the absorbent fibres and retaining their absorption and stabilization properties.
Key characteristics:
- retain the absorbent and structuring properties of cellulosic fibres
- densified form for easier handling and dispersion
- reduced dust compared to loose fibres
- more uniform application during dosing
Operational advantages compared to loose fibres:
- simpler handling (manual or mechanical spreading and dosing)
- improved distribution within the load
- easier storage and handling
Typical applications:
- semi-liquid residues
- sludges already containing a solid fraction
- situations requiring rapid and uniform application
- contexts where logistics and site cleanliness are priorities
Common Industrial Applications
Our absorbent media are used in a wide range of contexts, including:
- solidification of liquid waste from industrial activities
- absorption of residual water in sludges
- excess process liquids
- response to equipment failures or maintenance activities
- drilling water or aqueous effluents generated during drilling operations
About Recyc PHP
Since 2006, Recyc PHP Inc. has specialized in recycling industrial rejects of personal hygiene products (baby diapers, adult incontinence briefs or feminine hygiene pads) in order to separate their components into fluff pulp, super absorbent polymers (sodium polyacrylate) and plastic films. The plant, located in Drummondville, Quebec, Canada, export products around the world from the Port of Montreal.
